Select The Proper Medicare Insurance

When you are turning 65 or any other time you are entering the Medicare insurance market, you want to select the best plan that meets you requirements. Trust Kevin at Major Consulting to help you select the perfect plan for your needs. We also understand individual, small group and employee benefits in New Jersey. Get in touch with us to learn more.

 Medicare Supplements

Medicare Supplements are used to "supplement" Original Medicare and are sometimes referred to as Medigap Plans. These plans are provided by private insurance companies. All plans are standardized, meaning the lettered plan you select has the same exact benefits with all of the insurance companies. Why pay more for the same exact benefits? We will educate you on the most suitable and least expensive plans that meet your specific needs.

Medicare Supplements help fill the gaps not paid by Original Medicare, including co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles. This will apply to your Hospital (Part A) and Medical (Part B). These plans are accepted everywhere Original Medicare is accepted in the United States. Purchasing a plan when you are first eligible is normally recommended as you will not be required to answer any medical questions.

 Medicare Advantage

Which plan you choose is a very personal decision. No one size fits all when it comes to Medicare Insurance. Your neighbor's plan has no impact on your needs! Your needs may change over time. Sometimes one spouse owns a Medicare Supplement with a stand-alone Part D Prescription drug plan, and the other spouse is more suited for a Medicare Advantage Plan. These are very critical decisions, especially when applying for Part B when you first become eligible. We can provide you with the wisdom to help guide you through this selection process.

Prescription Drug Plans

These are a critical piece of the Medicare maize. It is imperative that you understand your proper choices, or more importantly, what may be an improper selection! Every plan has its own covered drugs/formulary, with their deductibles, copays and preferred pharmacies available in your service area.

Medigap Plans require a stand-alone drug card, often referred to as Medicare Part D. Medicare Advantage Plans include drugs with your hospitals and doctors inclusive on one card. Prescription Drug Plans (PDP's) normally can only be changed once a year. Many find it the most complicated piece of the Medicare system. We will guide you through the selection process only after detailed research of your specific drug requirements. It is very important that understand your best option BEFORE selecting any plan, which is subject to change every year.
